movie review: Annie

I liked it! It had lots of singing and dancing!

(Note: I overheard two people talking about the movie in the bathroom before it started, and one of them said, “I don’t understand why they put so many songs in it.” Well, that would be because it’s a musical. Singing and dancing is sort of the point.)

Annie: freaking adorable.

Grace: freaking adorable.

Sandy the dog: freaking adorable.

fake!movie Moon Quake Lake: freaking hilarious.

Seriously, I laughed so much during this movie. Way more than the little kids in the audience.

Also, Jaime Foxx managed not to be skeevy as the renamed ‘Will Stacks.’ Still not sure whether that was supposed to be a shoutout to ‘stacks of money,’ an unusual nod to Tony Stark (the Stack Phone, really?), or just shared some sounds with ‘Warbucks’ (but less skeevy).

Passed the Bechdel test. It’s possible there were more named female characters than male; I can remember more of them, anyway.

Overall, fun! Enjoyable to watch, enjoyable to listen to. Would view again.
