movie review: Paddington
May. 31st, 2015 08:48 amOverall:
This movie was a weird, surrealistic effort to take a children’s book originally published in the 1950s and translate it to 2014.
Some random thoughts:
Some of the visual effects were really cool, like the changing tree art in the Browns’ house. But the movie as a whole kept making me think of a figure skating short program — like there was a list of elements that they wanted to jam in there, and sometimes it all came together and looks amazing, and sometimes it was just a mess.
The big question:
Why was Peter Capaldi in this movie?
