winter plants update
Nov. 23rd, 2018 11:11 amIt’s been a while — the plants are doing their plant things, which is good. All the cuttings that were growing in water have now been planted, and — fingers crossed — are continuing to grow.
Current plant status:
1 spider plant — Faithfully chugging along! Acts as an excellent Large Plant Companion to the smaller over-winterers.
2 aloe plants — My other ‘always-inside’ plants. These were both re-planted in new soil this fall, and they seem to be happy with that.
2 kiwi fern coleus — Staunch growers, and they love to follow the light even when it’s deep winter, which wins them the title of ‘most interactive.’
2 purple shield — The first one transplanted to dirt is doing well; the second one just moved a week ago, but seems to be adjusting okay.
1 iresine — Only one of the cuttings started in water actually rooted, and for some reason all the leaves are on one side? This plant is a mystery to me. I have high hopes it will thrive, just so it can continue to baffle me into 2019.
