hooligans!
Aug. 22nd, 2019 06:13 amLast night I was awoken by laughing and shouting outside. Things that seemed true while I was mostly asleep, but may or may not have been the case:
*it was the middle of the night
*they were very loud
*it went on for a long time
*hooligans!
Then I figured I should research the etymology of the word hooligan this morning, to at least attempt to ensure it's not more offensive than the general 'you kids get off my lawn!' attitude I was going for. Which led to the word 'scofflaws,' another good one.
(I'm guessing the hooligans thought they were fine to make noise in the parking lot, since it wasn't inside. Fair! But with all the windows wide open, it turned out to be much more disruptive than probably intended. And it wasn't a skunk or a car alarm, so I feel like we were still below the red zone of irritating nighttime happenings.)

"Hooligans, is what they are!"
"He likes them all, he just likes to see the drum roll out the door."
