more thoughts on 'The Untamed'
Jan. 9th, 2020 05:51 am*Against all advice, I have now watched all of the episodes in the present, and only the first two flashback ones. However, due to reading (SO MUCH, I CAN'T EVEN SAY HOW MUCH) fanfic, I could probably string together a decent timeline, and it didn't hinder my enjoyment of the story.
(*PS: If the Coffin City storyline had been any MORE sad, I would not have been able to handle it at all, so I'm considering it an A+ choice.)
(*I may be exaggerating my awareness of the timeline. But the drama and the novel don't match up exactly, and I think there's a cartoon? I'm really more 'figure it out as you go' when it comes to fanfic, which is hilarious because it is literally the only place in my entire life where that's the case.)
*The show: 50 episodes of pining and miscommunication. To be fair, these are two things fandom loves!
*What I wanted: 50 episodes of domestic fluff, while parenting the juniors and being a BAMF battle!couple.
*To my great joy, fandom also loves those things! (SO MUCH FANFIC, NOT KIDDING)
In conclusion: it really helped me enjoy the fanfic when I could visualize the characters, so watching some of the show was great. Listening to the music is also more fun now!
