*For various reasons, fire department inspectors will be coming through the apartment next Tuesday. To... inspect things? Honestly I don't know what fire department inspectors do. (My only experience is from college dorms, when they mostly just tested the fire alarm and made sure you didn't have any banned items like hot plates sitting around in the open.)

*They will be testing the fire alarm. In every unit. They seemed apologetic about this, and warned it would be extremely noisy. I'm trying not to think about it.

*Even though I know they will not care about the cleanliness of the apartment, I feel vaguely motivated to improve its appearance, which is always a welcome urge.
