it's my tv season, I guess?
Mar. 29th, 2021 05:40 amMuch of the time, my brain is fully on board with 'spend time reading words' as a favorite activity. There are many times I have thought, 'why would I watch something, when I could read something?'
HAHAHA AND YET! There are also times when my brain is all, 'pls show me things! pictures! moving pictures! with sound!' And then I wind up watching a bunch of stuff, which is A) a somewhat convenient way to catch up on Stuff Fandom Is Talking About, and B) memorably, one of the things that helped me get into Guardian, which was ::cough:: clearly a gateway show.
(The past several years have followed a similar pattern, where I watch a bunch of stuff in the late winter*, which could be totally coincidental, but also is the time of year when there is the least visual variety happening outside. So maybe my eyeballs want extra enrichment when there's no leaves to look at!)
((*And I use 'late winter,' in the New England way, which is to say: vaguely encompassing everything from January to May.))
