workaday Wednesday
Jun. 22nd, 2022 05:53 amIt was workplace bingo night last night, so I stayed an extra hour on zoom to get my 'event participation' points. Waaaaaaaay back in 2020, bingo used to be a lot of fun. The employee who ran it then has since left, and they keep dropping responsibility for being the bingo caller on whatever unlucky employee happens to ask about it. (I assume that's how they're being picked; I don't actually know.)
So now it's less fun, but it's participation points (they're made up and only sort of matter), plus a chance to gauge the company mood (terrible, if last night was to be believed), and sometimes you win money. Well, points, now. Which aren't as good as money, but are acceptable.
Which is a good representation of where I'm at with work right now: not fun, but acceptable.
