Apr. 27th, 2023 07:03 amMy workplace switched us all over from gmail to outlook in late March, and it's been an experience. I've stayed out of the email arguments that have been happening ever since I started working there (9 years ago, or approximately how long the company has been talking about the switch), but it turns out that now I do have some thoughts on it.
My Thoughts On The Gmail vs Outlook Argument
*they're both fine
*but they're not the same, so if you've set up an entire system to take advantage of the peculiarities of one or the other, it is absolutely not going to transfer seamlessly, and it will be very annoying
And one honorable mention for the absolute best (and most useless) comment I got from IT when I asked a question about the outlook folders system:
"Wow, you have a lot of folders."
I sure do, buddy. I sure do.
