February book review: Five to Thrive
Feb. 10th, 2013 07:05 pm(Since I’m guessing there’s probably more than one book with this title out in the world, this is the one by Lise N. Alschuler and Karolyn A. Gazella, subtitled 'Your Cutting-Edge Cancer Prevention Plan'.)
Finished this one early, since I keep reading to put off writing. Plus, it wasn’t super-engaging, so I was worried I might get bored and never come back to it if I spread it out over a longer period of time.
Overall: Eh, it was interesting. Got some new vocab words out of it (epigenetics, anyone?). Not a thrilling read, but a solid one, and I thought it struck a good balance between ‘you have the power to change things’ and ‘you should still pay attention to what your body tells you.’
