This week at work I had a total Russell moment. There was an older gentleman at the register, and I kept offering him things — a receipt, a bag, a free magazine — and he kept saying no. I swear, it was on the tip of my tongue to say, “But I have to give you something, or I can’t get my assisting the elderly badge!” (I did not actually say it, mostly because I didn’t think he’d get the reference.)

And then I came home for the weekend and found this fic on my pinboard network page!

It’s a crossover between Up and Toy Story, where Russell meets Andy when they’re both 17, and a Disney-style wooing ensues.

Andy’s eyes go huge in his face and he says, “You have a talking dog?” in a tone so excited that Russell is reminded of himself at age eight.
