There I was at work yesterday, working the register. Along comes someone who’s just not sure whether or not his name might be in the computer. See, he used to live in the state, but then he moved away.

Last name? Jones. First name? Harold.

I was all, ‘OMG I named a character after you and he’s in all my novels and do you know anyone named Al? Do you like cats? Can I have your autograph?’

Okay, no, I didn’t say any of those things, but I was thinking them, and it was very cool.

He bought tea, and a book for his mom.
