Everyone keeps optimistically saying things should quiet down this week. So far no such luck. People keep leaving for vacation, which means that although the total work load is less, it’s distributed over fewer and fewer people.

(On the plus side, the free food that keep showing up is also distributed among fewer and fewer people, which is certainly a bonus.)

And I did have a great conversation with someone on the phone yesterday, and he was clearly well-versed in company-speak and holiday scheduling. It involved this classic holiday phrase: “I’ll just call back in January.”
