kudos to you, man at gym

I am frequently intimidated everywhere at the gym. (Everywhere is actually true, but this story’s about the gym.) I am lucky to attend a gym that is not very busy, typically, and at times when attendance is often skewed towards senior citizens.

On Thursday, I was biking along to some tunes, and I watched an older gentleman approach one of the treadmills. He put his brightly-colored sports drink in one cupholder, and his takeout cup of coffee in the other. (Why would they give you two cupholders if you weren’t supposed to have two beverages?) Then he popped in his earbuds and started trekking along.

And I said to myself, “That man wore maroon windpants to the gym. He’s walking on the treadmill while drinking a cup of coffee.” And I realized,”That man deserves a shoutout.” So — kudos to you, man at gym.
