movie review: How To Train Your Dragon 2

Things I Liked:

1. Very pretty! Nice music!

2. The cute and cuddly cat!dragon Toothless.

3. Showing how Berk changed to integrate dragons into the society.

Head Scratchers:

1. Why would anyone want Hiccup to be in charge of the village, when Astrid is clearly a better choice?

2. Valka sounded very Scottish to me, and I kept trying to figure out if she was supposed to be Merida.

3. How did Drago wrangle control of the alpha in the first place? (Alternately: the whole concept of alpha dragons.)

Yawn Worthy:

1. The plot. (Young man comes of age and tries to find his place in the world! Shirks responsibilities, fails to communicate, has issues with authority! Saved by his loyal sidekick — whose own motivations are never explored — and his astonishingly tolerant girlfriend! Somehow always considered the hero anyway!)
