How fandom is helping me get to the gym

February has been a tough month for my gym attendance. I’ve been searching for ways to motivate me to get there at least once more before March — something strong enough to overcome the dual hurdles of 1) it’s cold; and 2) I could be sleeping.

Yesterday, I was driving to work, listening to the radio, and a Taylor Swift song came on. Naturally, this led me to think about the Supernatural fandom. Which led me to think about The Fourth Wall series, by entanglednow. Which also has a podfic version.

I COULD LISTEN TO THE FIC AT THE GYM.

Now, let it be said that as I type this, I am not at the gym. And it is cold. But I am not, currently, sleeping. So I am cautiously optimistic that I will be at the gym at some point today. With fic.

(I did make it to the gym, but sadly couldn't get the volume high enough to actually hear the fic over the music already playing. I went with tunes instead, but have been listening to the fic in the car as a good alternative!)
