marcicat | ready or not

Yesterday morning (in that nebulous weekend time between getting up to feed the cat breakfast and getting up for real) one of my curtain rods threw itself out of the window.

Luckily, it took an inside trajectory, and it’s a tension rod, so I’m blaming the classic “the changing weather made the building settle.” (I don’t really know what that means, and I’m not discounting gremlins. Unfortunately, tension rods are another one of those things I understand on a conceptual level, but functionally speaking I always feel like I’m missing some key element that would make them work better.)

But I took it as a signal that it was time to change over some things to their cool weather counterparts. Which was fun! (A little weird since it was pretty hot yesterday, but it’s cooler today.) Autumn is on it’s way!
