Taking a break from the nano posting for a Christmas decorations update! This weekend I picked up some battery-powered candles that have a nifty timer feature on them. Nothing super advanced, but it means that I can see them on when I get home from work without having to leave them on all day.

Since I am someone who gets very excited about 1) new things, and 2) Christmas, I put them in my windows right away. But I had some neighbor!guilt — is it too early for candles? (It is possibly too early for candles.)

I did it anyway, because they’re pretty subtle even when it’s completely dark out, and the balcony rail blocks a lot of the visual effect anyway. And then last night I got back after work only to see a GIANT CHRISTMAS TREE WITH BLINKING LIGHTS out on one of the other balconies (not the one that still has Halloween ghosts up).

What a relief! Also, cool tree, neighbor on the other end of the building!
