The computer rollout at work is going fine, for certain definitions of fine that include ‘nothing is currently on fire.’
The people tapped to assist with the project keep asking how we’re doing. I usually say I’m good, because that’s what they want to hear, and there’s just no quick or tactful way to say, ‘if you want me to keep doing the same five work tasks that you trained us to do, I’m good, but if you want me to do any of the other hundred tasks that are actually my job, someone’s going to have to start taking action on that ‘report a problem’ spreadsheet other than just marking everything IN PROGRESS.’
Is it Friday yet?
