marcicat | kudos to less than perfect

When I was struggling to finish my last writing project, the thing that got me through was reading imperfect fic. My own, other people’s, anything that crossed my screen. Because I could look at it and know that objectively speaking, it had some problems, but I WAS STILL ENJOYING IT!

In every story there was a line, or an idea, or an image that really resonated with me. Even if the fic was not destined to become one of my favorites and be re-read a hundred times, I still liked reading it! It had value to me!

And that reminder helped me start typing again, to finish another imperfect fic. It has some problems, sure, but maybe it also has the power to make someone else think ‘hey, if I’m enjoying reading this imperfect fic, maybe people would like reading my writing too.’
