1. It's the month when you can finally stop pretending you're not already trying to figure out Christmas.
2. NaNoWriMo is enticingly close but reassuringly not yet upon us, so the question of 'to participate or not to participate' can remain unanswered.
3. Acceptable to post nothing but pictures of cats with scarves for the entire month.
4. Somehow not weird at all to go to Walmart and purchase 3 pounds of candy and 6 gallons of distilled water.
5. Pumpkins.
