So Tuesday was a little weird.
1. It turns out that for the last four years I’ve actually been voting at the middle school, not the elementary school. But I did get a sticker, so I’m 100% sure I was in the right place.
2. I had to explain to my boss that just because a company we work with in South Carolina isn’t in a mandatory evacuation zone for the hurricane, it didn’t mean they wouldn’t be impacted. (I finally said, “Like if the town this building is in wasn’t in an evacuation zone, but the town I *live* in was supposed to evacuate, I wouldn’t come to work.” The look I received in return was less ‘of course not, that would be ridiculous,’ and more ‘so you’re saying you’re not a team player, is that it?’)
3. Some kids were playing outside in the evening, which seemed nice, except after it got dark, and they’d been pretty quiet for a while, suddenly one of them yelled, “I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!” really loud. And then silence.
