I’ve moved! A whole ten feet, to a new desk at work!

*Now that I have a wall at my back, instead of another desk (single cube versus a double), I am hopeful it will reduce my baseline stress level at work.

*OH MY GOSH my boss actually said to me, “I’ll miss being able to look out my office door and see you.” Pretty sure I blue-screened for a few seconds while I tried to figure out how to say, “I hate that and it’s why I’m moving,” without actually, you know, saying that.

*A window! (Yes, it’s very cold. You’d think the company would be more interested in investigating insulation solutions, since it’s an enormous money drain to heat and cool the place, but hey — no one asked my opinion!) But it’s still a window, and I can see the OUTSIDE WORLD!

*Surprise bonus: the person who had the desk before me (not fired! just moved to a different building!) had an extra filing cabinet. So now I have an extra filing cabinet! Right now it has my shoes in it. (I don’t actually have any files.)

*The “space planning committee” (still not sure that’s a real thing, btw) emailed me to say they would need to “update their records” with my new location. I assume this is the single sheet of paper where they pencil our names on the cubical diagram? Let’s get that Extremely Official Document updated!
