Me: "Three months would be typical."

Project lead: "Okay, good. So if we set a due date of July 8, would that work?"

Me, internally: 'Of *this* year? No? Obviously not? Are you crazy?'

Me, out loud: "A three week timeframe, especially with a holiday weekend, would be extremely challenging."

Project lead: "So, six weeks?"

(And you have now made me think about the key account manager that was unable to tell clients that 3-month projects could not be finished in 3 weeks, *and* would actually take longer the later they sent the required input... because he felt it would be too aggressive to set deadlines to the client. *headdesk*)

Oh no! They're everywhere! (No lie: when I mentioned to our internal project lead that the timeline was unrealistic, their response was, and I quote: "Don't worry about it." I have no idea what to make of that.)

Well that's ominous... I mean, it might be "I will make them see reason at a later date", but could also be "nah, it's fine, I'll just ignore your bothersome estimates and expect you to make it work!" O_O

Ha! Yes, I think in this case it probably means, "I'm not worried about it, so I wish you'd stop mentioning it."
