marcicatToday I have my first official check-in meeting with my new boss. They've already started loading tasks and goals into our workplace's online platform for 'this is where we keep meeting notes because we've finally found something everyone in the company can agree on, and it's that everyone hates this platform.'
The BEST part is that they've loaded in the goals from our one of our other online platforms, the 'this is our new system for performance reviews and no one understands how to use it' platform. And those are the goals that I, uh, made up.
(My previous boss handled setting the goals by holding a meeting once a year in which vague concepts were expressed but never decided upon. And then I ignored those vague concepts and just translated my job description into actual goals, with words and numbers and stuff. Then previous!boss would pretend they didn't exist until it was time to do the annual review, at which point they didn't care even a tiny bit and were just happy to not have to do extra work.)
So that'll be excruciating! Ahahaha I meant awkward. No, wait, *interesting* -- I meant interesting!
