When is the right time to rearrange the living room furniture? A key question for the autumnal season. (In the spring and summer, I like the furniture to be set up so the balcony door is clear and I can see out, and as much light as possible can come in. In the fall and winter, there's not much light to be had, and I like to put the sofa in front of the balcony door to block the drafts.)

I haven't spent as much time in the living room since adopting Maggie, because she picked the other room as her chosen 'sit together' space. Which is fine, except I feel like I'm neglecting it a little. And maybe rearranging the furniture would help. And it's not like I don't love an excuse to rearrange the furniture anyway.

These are the things one ponders on a Monday morning while avoiding thinking about work.
