I got a little excited as I was typing the subject line and at first I wrote 'happy Octobober!" Which I think has a certain ring to it, really.

Important October Questions

*What is the right amount to think about nanowrimo, to maintain the balance of 'not completely overwhelmed by starting on November 1st' and 'not tired of the story by November 1st'?

*So, is it pre-Christmas yet?

it's not pre-Christmas till it's at least post-Halloween, preferably post-NaNoWriMo

Pre-Christmas by normal people's standards? Probably not yet. I feel like generally you have to get through Halloween first?

By retail standards? The place I work has had Christmas cards for sale for three weeks now /0\ It horrifies me every September when they show up, but it's even worse when customers ask me *mid-August* why we don't have them stocked yet. (Because it's still summer???)
