to the vet!
Oct. 14th, 2019 06:50 amFor a few weeks now, I've been overhearing a coworker talk with the dog's vet about some as-yet-undiagnosed digestive issues the dog is having. It has been oddly reassuring, because this coworker is an intimidatingly impressive dog parent, and is still struggling and asking for help. (Not that I want them to struggle! But I always feel like I am an average-at-best cat parent, and am constantly anxious about asking for help because what if I have been Doing It All Wrong This Whole Time?! So, yeah, reassuring to see someone else asking for help like it's just a totally normal thing. Which it is!)
Anyway, me and the cat are going to the vet today, because the fearless fuzzball maybe has a UTI, or more likely, what the internet has informed me is called "Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease," or FLUTD for short. Which is basically 'looks like a UTI but there's no infection and no readily-treatable cause.' Could be exacerbated by stress, or inflammation, or inflammation caused by stress, or vice versa. Or not drinking enough water.
Ever onwards!
