candy time!
Oct. 30th, 2019 05:57 amI cannot even begin to describe how weird my workplace has made October 31st this year. On the other hand, Halloween in general is a pretty low-stress holiday, and there's no gifting involved. And I appreciate that Halloween is basically a candy free-for-all. There's none of this 'oh, it has to be a holiday-appropriate candy' like Christmas and Easter -- no, Halloween is the point in the year where you can say, "I'm going to eat this entire bag of peanut butter cups," and everyone around you will think that's a perfectly reasonable choice, because hey, it's Halloween.
I will be putting out a dish of candy in the hallway for the neighbors tomorrow, because A) that will definitely keep anyone from knocking on my door; and B) for $6, I get both the glow of adopted community AND the leftover candy, so that's a win-win.
(I still think trick or treat should be on the 30th, not the 31st. But this town does the 31st, and that's cool too.)
