In ONE WEEK I will be allowed back to the office to "pack up my desk." (I am -- not entirely sure the company realized how ominous that sounded in their email. But maybe they did! The corporate world is a mystery to me, and the more I learn, the less I wish I knew.)
Anyway! At this point, we are not being fired, as far as I know. The official reasoning for letting people get things from their desks is essentially 'we're going to hardcore disinfect everything and it will ruin anything sitting on top of your desk, so if you want it, come get it.' Combined with a little bit of 'if you'd prefer not to come in, we'll clean your desk for you, but we can't guarantee we won't break things.'
So there's a whole schedule, and a bunch of requirements that I read but only somewhat absorbed, because I figured I wasn't going to remember and would have to review them next week anyway. The point is -- stuff! I'm coming, stuff! Gonna go get my NASA mousepad back!
(I left it tucked into a drawer when I left, because I don't even have a mouse at home, but I've been wishing for it ever since because it's so great. SOON!!!)
