It's like a game
Dec. 14th, 2020 05:56 amSometimes I feel overwhelmed by the amount of stuff in my life, which then translates to feeling overwhelmed by the amount of stuff in my apartment. And there have been times when I've enjoyed sorting through things in a methodical way to reduce that amount of stuff.
This is not one of those moments. This is one of those moments when I check in with my brain and it's like 'AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!' And I'm just like, 'yep, that's the mood.'
So I've come up with the 'let's throw one thing away' game. This is a fun and simple activity where I wander through the apartment, and in each room I throw something away. (Or not! The rules are -- I was going to say 'not strict,' but it's more like 'non-existent.') Really it's just an excuse to wander around and perform minor tidying activities, and because it has a name it feels more productive and less scattered.
