The Candle
Dec. 31st, 2020 05:50 amYesterday was a momentous day here at the apartment! The candle is done!
Back in 2014, I had a very good coupon for the local hardware store, and one of the things I purchased was a 22 oz Yankee Candle (balsam & cedar). It was before my first Christmas here, and I was very excited, and I clearly had no idea what I was getting myself into.
That candle lasted SIX YEARS. ::counts on fingers:: SEVEN YEARS. Now, to be fair, it's not like I burned it every day or anything. Yankee Candles tend to be An Experience All Their Own, and the 22 oz size is like that, but MORE. So much more.
I did occasionally consider just getting rid of the candle, but no! I was determined to persevere. And now I have! The candle burned itself out yesterday evening. Thanks, candle. I learned many lessons from you!
(Okay, possibly just one lesson, which was not to buy 22 oz sized candles. But that is Good To Know!)
