But here he is thinking about gardening. Growing things for the sake of growing them. Settling. Permanence. The past and the future, and the improbable confluence of both.

Maybe, in a million years from now, he’ll come back to this spot and remember how he once stood here in the misty morning air thinking about planting radishes.
