classic cat moment

It's SO hot and humid again, but I optimistically turned off the AC and opened the windows before I went to bed last night. (I woke up to it being 76F degrees inside, which is not exactly my ideal indoor temp, BUT I got to hear the crickets and not the AC rumbling on and off all night. It's a toss-up.)
At some point in the night, I awoke to the sounds of the cat wheezing in that particular 'maybe I'm about to cough up a hairball' tune. After semi-successfully locating her direction, I attempted to offer whatever level of comfort I was capable of while still being at least 80% asleep. She immediately left her cat tree and leaped onto the bed, at which point she climbed on top of me and started purring and demanding pats.
My sleepy brain was like 'CAT <3 <3 <3 but wait, hairball? but SLEEP? cat is breathing, yes, everything is fine, resting now.' She seems totally fine this morning, but the extreme humidity has been a lot for her. I'm looking forward to cooler and drier weather.
