marcicatI remain weirdly intimidated by the prospect of writing a Star Trek fic for nanowrimo, despite constant reminders to myself that this show LOVES tropes! This show brought us tribbles AND the Q Continuum! Anyway, I was very excited last night to get through a Very Rough plan for the first part of the fic, only to realize that there were still two parts to go and zero plans at all. So there's that! But there's still ::checks calendar:: some amount of time!
Memory Alpha (I recommend reader view to save your eyes -- there's an icon in the address bar in safari, or Ctrl+Shift+R in some browsers) has been very helpful for the inevitable questions I have about almost everything:
1. Is this a real thing, or did Star Trek make it up?
2. Is it a new made up thing, or was it a reference to some backstory I didn't watch / don't remember?
