day 26: notes are useless, send help

And then the next chapter: "executing the plan, part 2"
I had no idea what the plan would be, but optimistically believed it would come to me by the time I reached this point of the story. (Spoiler: it has not.)
The good news is that I originally guessed the plan would be happening around the 40,000 word mark, and now it looks more like it'll be the 42,000 word mark. Which means I should be able to get away with compressing 'executing the plan' into just one chapter. Unfortunately, I haven't yet figured out a way to get out of actually coming up with a plan. I might skip ahead to the post-plan sections just to keep some words going.
