marcicatWhen I started at my workplace way back in yesteryear (aka 2014), everything was run on the google suite -- gmail, docs (that was pre-drive, even!), sheets, etc. By 2017, the rumors were rampant that a switch to outlook and office was in the works, and indeed, 2018 brought a confirming announcement.
And then there were some more years. The project was paused, the project was un-paused, the project was on hold (this is different than a pause, apparently), the project was suddenly back and the company was pretending it was brand new and totally on track. (?????) (But at the same time, yeah, not sure why I expected anything else.)
It was definitely going to happen in 2020. And then it disappeared off the schedule with zero explanation, only to pop back up as definitely going to happen in the first quarter of 2022. (What happened to 2021? I have no idea. I'm confident I don't want to know.)
The first quarter of 2022 changed to the third quarter, and then drifted into the start of 2023. But this time, for sure! Definitely!
So it is with some amazement that I find myself about to log in to work on this 21st day of March, 2023, and I am (I guess???!?) expecting to see this transition has actually happened. (Has it, though???)
