a victory of sorts
Jun. 10th, 2023 07:16 amWhen we moved, we got a good deal on internet-only service (no cable or phone), and that deal was good for two years. Since it's about to expire, I went looking to figure out all the details I'd forgotten in the two years since I paid attention to them. Here's what I learned:
*we could keep going with the current plan and start paying the non-promotional rate, which would increase our bill about $60 a month
*we could "downgrade" to a slower plan with no promotional offer, which would increase our bill about $40 a month
*we could "upgrade" to a faster plan and get THAT plan's promotional rate for another two years, which would increase our bill about $25 a month
So yeah, we went with option C? It sort of feels like any time I have to pay attention to the details of insurance -- like it's CLEARLY a rigged game and I'm the mark, but the odds are still better than not playing at all? I hope?
(I mean, in this case we need internet to do our jobs, so I'm gonna call it a win! Mark that one down in the 'W' column and let's celebrate!)
