unicorn month!

marcicatBack at the start of the year, my workplace decided (in their infinite wisdom) to start paying us every other week instead of every week. The stated reason was to "align with the parent company;" the unspoken but absolutely implied reason was that it would cost the company less money to do payroll less often. (Turns out Die Hard was right, and pretty much everything can be explained by 'it was about money.')
ANYWAY back in the days of weekly pay, every quarter or so there would be a five-week month and we'd get an extra paycheck. (YAY!!!) But in the days of bi-weekly pay, such auspicious alignments are more rare. This is the first month that the days line up to get us three paychecks in a month instead of two.
(Part of me is still suspicious that they'll find a way to make this not happen. But logically, it should? I hope it does!)
