what even happened in this story?

I'm still on the fence about posting my nano fic to AO3 (aka I probably will, but I like to give myself the option to bail out), but I'm going to try to post it to dreamwidth this weekend. Which means I should probably at least skim back through it? What even happened in 50,000 words? There were definitely some spaceships; I remember that much.
Since re-reading my own writing invariably makes me sleepy (I think it's a combination of the absolute zero stress and the familiarity of the tone -- it's super easy for my brain to read, so it doesn't have to do much work), the only question is: should I try to do this in the morning, when I will be the most likely to stay awake? Or the afternoon, when an unexpected nap would be the least disruptive to other plans?
(Eventually I will post about things other than nanowrimo again. Today is not that day!)
