a fic re-read

Someone left a nice comment on a fic I wrote back in 2013, and I was like 'oh I vaguely recall that story, I should read it again!' Which led me down the rabbit hole of re-reading old fic, which has been a wild ride. A journey. A learning adventure.

Okay, not really that last one. But it's been fun, mostly! There are a few fandoms I genuinely didn't remember at ALL (Covert Affairs, what?!?), and SO MANY references to technology that no longer exists (lol cell phone quicknotes!), and also my writing has really not changed as much as I thought it had.

So far these seem to be the key differences in my fanfics today versus 2010ish:

*everyone talks about their feelings a lot more now
*forget canon, we don't need that nonsense here
