very important blanket update

marcicatOkay, my crochet blanket is not done, BUT it is much closer to being done! For absolutely no reason at all, I decided that since I started the blanket on March 1st, it would be neat if I finished it by the end of the month. Which is -- maybe a bigger project than I thought?
Mostly because I didn't have an exact size goal in mind, other than 'big enough to nap under,' and 'I'm not buying more yarn for this, so it's definitely not going to take more than 12 skeins.' (That's about 2400 yards of yarn, which is a number I continue to be astonished by.) It's passed the five-foot marker, and I'm now seriously considering just continuing until I run out of yarn.
Here's my current pondering -- I've got two types of yarn that I've been alternating and increasing (2 rows of each, then 3 rows of each, then 4 rows, etc). Right now I'm up to 9 rows, and I'll have plenty of yarn to do 9 rows of each. But I don't think I'll have enough to do 10 rows of each, and (as seen above) I'm definitely not buying more yarn for it, especially since I think 10 rows of each would make it REALLY long.
It's not that I didn't know this would happen from a relatively early stage; I just figured I'd deal with it when the time came. Which turns out to be kind of now? I guess we'll see what happens!
