marcicatFun work fact! April 21st is my official 'work-aversary,' so this weekend will mark 10 years at my current place of work! It's the longest I've ever stayed at a workplace, calendar-wise. (I joke-but-not-really-joking that any year spent in customer service should count as at least three years, which would change the math a little, although not as much as I expected.)
At my last workplace, we called the five year anniversary the 'sandwich anniversary.' (Okay, I called it that, and worked hard to get it adopted by others. No idea if it's still called that now.) Because for your five year anniversary, the boss took you out to lunch, generally to a casual sandwich-type place. It was fun! I mean, awkward, because lunch with the boss, but still, sandwiches! Free food!
I made it one year past the sandwich anniversary at that workplace, and I still have (relatively) fond feelings towards it. Mmm, sandwiches. Maybe it's time to do the grocery shopping.
