what lurks in the inbox
Apr. 30th, 2024 07:31 amTook yesterday off from work, got through a BUNCH of projects I've been meaning to get to for a while. I should probably just plan to always take a day or two at the end of the month to catch up. (haha that's so sensible, I assume it's literally So Obvious that I've never thought to actually plan for it before)
Anyway, that means there are SOME EMAILS for sure piling up in my work inbox. They'll be sorted using my standard strategy:
*first: delete everything that can be deleted (mostly ads and the like)
*second: open and file everything that I definitely don't need to do anything about (internal notifications, mostly -- stuff that there's a very rare chance I might need to reference later, but probably not)
*third: open and read stuff that may or may not be something I need to know
*fourth: yikes
*fifth: add 'reviewed all emails from time off' to the daily 'prove I did stuff today if anyone ever asks' log
The dream is always that there's a high percentage of first and second stuff, with a as-close-to-zero-as-possible quantity of category #4.
