workaday Wednesday
May. 22nd, 2024 07:36 amThe Wednesday before Memorial Day weekend is *basically* the start of the holiday, right? I feel like this is traditionally the day when people start pushing as many projects as possible until the post-holiday week.
(Which is great! I love that! It's probably also why my boss seemed surprised when I said on Monday that I could do a thing by today or tomorrow. In my defense, that was Monday, and I sort of forgot the holiday weekend thing. Hopefully whatever my boss needs isn't too big.))
(I'm PRETTY SURE they're working on something for the team in charge of the Big Survey happening this year. The Big Survey is conceptually a very good thing, but in practice it seems to be a lot of scrambling to see if boxes can be checked without actually doing extra work. Not exactly the force for positive change it's purported to be, but probably not a net negative either.)
