ooh, new pattern!
Oct. 12th, 2024 08:31 amI'm trying out the Easy Rectangle Log Cabin Blanket pattern by Tamara Kelly - Moogly. The concept of the blanket is SO FUN -- do what you want! Turn the blanket and crochet in the other direction! Switch yarns!
It's also turning out to be a great way to use up the following types of yarn:
*I liked this yarn enough to buy some, but not enough to base a whole project on it
*I have some yarn left over from themathematical estimation random guessing I did for a previous project
*Where did this yarn come from?
As one might imagine, not all these yarns are actually the same size, but I have NOT let that stop me. I do what I want! Yarn anarchy! LOL the blanket is already quite a bit non-rectangular, but I figure as long as I'm having fun, that's really not a big deal. (I could likely adjust the shape somewhat by blocking. I am not going to do that.)
BONUS: Around minute 11:20 of the youtube video, there's a demonstration of the "chainless starting double crochet" stitch, which was new to me and is a lovely (and relatively easy) way to make a straighter edge while doing double crochet. I was impressed! People just share these things! For free! On the internet! What a time to be alive!
