DAY 3: A GLORIOUS VICTORY

*1/4 tsp dried minced ginger (added to the grounds before brewing)
*1/4 tsp roasted garlic powder
*2 drops liquid smoke
*1/2 tsp molasses
*add sweetener and half & half as desired

RECIPE NOTES:
*1/4 teaspoon of roasted garlic powder was better than 1/2 -- less of the, uh, throat-burning sensation after each swallow? I also stirred it more (read: at all) as I drank to keep it all from settling to the bottom

*I couldn't really identify the flavor as ginger, but I tried the coffee directly after brewing and said 'tastes bad, that's got to be the ginger.'

*I added everything except the liquid smoke this time to see if it was making a difference. Pre-liquid smoke, this tasted mostly like coffee with molasses. The liquid smoke really brought out the garlic, and provided an unexpectedly delicious depth of flavor.

IN CONCLUSION

*I now have a LOT of opinions about raktajino.

*This was delicious, but could it be easier?

*I've got one more day of home coffee before Be a Goldfish Week 4 is officially over, and I'm planning to try leaving out the ginger and garlic. BE CURIOUS! BE WEIRD! BE CAFFEINATED!
