Christmas songs, a retrospective (part 1)
Dec. 24th, 2010 10:46 amI *love* Christmas music. Well, lots of it, anyway. Actually, way back at the end of November I thought about making a post of ‘Christmas songs I’m already sick of this year,’ but thought it lacked a certain celebratory spirit.
Since it’s now Christmas Eve (!), here’s that post!
Christmas Songs I’m Sick Of (And Have Been For A While)
1. Santa Baby
(this songs proves the exception to the ‘Muppets make everything better’ rule — then again, Miss Piggy was never my favorite Muppet)
2. the Christmas shoes song
(I haven’t heard this *once* this year — for which I’m grateful — but it still deserves a special place on this list)
3. Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey
(every person I’ve mentioned this to has never heard of this song, making me feel like a crazy person, but I found the lyrics, and I heard it on the radio yesterday — it’s real, and yes, it’s not my favorite)
4. Baby It’s Cold Outside
(despite the cuteness of Kurt and Blaine singing this song, it usually just creeps me out)
5. Blue Christmas / that one where the snow turns into rain and someone married an architect / the other one where someone says he’ll be back on Christmas day and never comes back
(it’s a three way tie and I don’t know the song titles for two of them!)

That fact that my dad, my ultra conservative, strictly hetero dad, was the one who enjoyed this song the most worries me...
