a conversation I decided not to have
Sep. 6th, 2012 08:20 pmYesterday I was reading at lunch, which I happened to be eating in the kitchen at work. And one of my coworkers wandered in to eat *his* lunch, and I was laughing because Avengers AUs and work are a lolarious combination.
Here’s the conversation we didn’t have, but which I imagined for us:
Coworker: “Whatcha reading?”
Me: “It’s an AU story for the Avengers, where one of them is a window washer and one of them works in an office, and instead of fighting crime, they fall in love*!”
(*it was Such Great Heights, by Not_Yet)
Here’s the conversation we *did* have, which was also, in retrospect, sort of funny.
Coworker: “Just gonna get this lobster going for my lunch.”
Me: “I don’t think I’ve *ever* seen someone bring lobster for lunch.”
Coworker: “Are you impressed?”
Me: “Heck yeah. I thought about making a peanut butter sandwich to bring for lunch. Then I decided not to*.”
(*today at lunch I had a bagel — I’m a seriously lazy lunch-preparer)
