(Let me preface this story by saying: Friday is my day OFF from work.)

The phone rang as I was getting out of the shower this morning. I let it ring, since I was, you know, getting out of the shower. But something about the words “police response” are pretty motivating, and it turns out those words were, in fact, part of the message.

Turns out it was my workplace’s security company, letting me know they were sending police to the store, since the alarms were going off. (Me: Ack! No, no no! Wow, I really hope this isn’t my fault!)

I called back, and luckily my boss had already cancelled the police response bit, since he’s the first one they call. (Really, such an honor to be on the “to call” list. Really.) Though I did remember the magical code to prove I wasn’t a criminal. (I wanted to say, “You called ME! Why do I need the magical code?”)

So yeah. That was this morning. (Totally not my fault, though! What a relief!)
